Searching for inspiration for your own web designer brand photoshoot? This session with Steph Corrigan, the talented creative behind Steph Corrigan Design, was the perfect blend of intentional planning, creative location choices, and a relaxed, natural vibe. Exactly what she was looking for to showcase her personality and elevate her online presence!
As a Boston branding photographer, I work with all kinds of creative entrepreneurs, but I especially love collaborating with service providers like Steph, a brand and web designer, who need versatile brand imagery for their websites, social media, and marketing materials.
Planning a Brand Photoshoot for a Web Designer
When Steph reached out, her vision was clear: she wanted mostly āworkingā or lifestyle images she could use on her website, Instagram, and in lead magnetsāplus a polished new headshot for LinkedIn. She told me:
āI’d love to find a beautiful studio space with a high end aesthetic and ideally lots of plants. Otherwise, maybe a scenic outdoor spot by the ocean or something? A cute coffee shop could be fun too; I frequently worked/hung out at those pre-pandemic.ā
With that in mind, I sourced a gorgeous Peerspace loft filled with natural light, lush greenery, and a cozy, elevated vibe. It also happened to be just a short drive from a local beach, which meant we could maximize our time together and capture both indoor and outdoor looks during the same session!
Making the Most of Our Time Together
As part of my signature planning process, Steph and I walked through everything she needed to feel confident and ready for the shoot, from outfit guidance and prop selection to location ideas and hair and makeup tips.
With web designers and other virtual business owners, it can be tricky to move beyond the typical (and basic lol) ālaptop and latteā shot list. Thatās why I work closely with each client to uncover personalized props that actually reflect the way they work and connect with clients. For Steph, we found just the right balance of tech tools, styled setups, and relaxed lifestyle moments.
And since the studio didnāt have a desk, I brought along my neutral fold-out desk to help create those āworking from anywhereā vibes she wanted. It folds flat and fits easily in the trunk – perfect for brand sessions that require a little extra flexibility!
The Final Result? Elevated and Versatile Brand Photos
We captured a collection of images that feel elevated but approachable, perfect for everything from website banners to Instagram posts. Whether sheās updating her about page, launching a new offer, or just refreshing her LinkedIn photo, she now has a full library of on-brand images to pull from.
Hereās what Steph had to say about the experience:
“Working with Emily on my brand photoshoot this summer was a dream from start to finish! She helped me feel as prepared as possible before our shoot, offering advice on outfits, props, locations, hair and makeup, etc. During our shoot, she made feel so comfortable in front of the camera (which is not an easy feat). Plus, our photos came out even better than I could’ve hoped! The entire experience was just incredible and I highly recommend working with Emily!”
