When your client is also your personal wardrobe stylist, you know the branding shoot is going to be next level. I had the absolute joy of photographing Abby Young, founder of Abby Young Styling, for her updated brand visuals, and this was no ordinary wardrobe stylist photoshoot! We went all out with a full-day photo and video session that captured the essence of Abby’s work, her team, and the luxury experience she delivers for her clients.
A Branding Shoot to Cover the Full Styling Experience
Abby’s goal for this shoot was simple: create brand photos that would last her and her team at least two years. As someone who shops, styles, and curates wardrobes for a living, her visuals needed to reflect the full scope of her process—from shopping for clients to styling outfits to final fittings.
We planned a shoot that covered every phase of her work, with wardrobe stylist photo shoot ideas that showcased movement, collaboration, and behind-the-scenes magic. To bring the vision to life, Abby secured a private in-home location, booked a full day of creative collaboration, and brought on her A-team. She doesn’t do anything halfway, and it shows!
Our Creative Team
This branding photoshoot came together thanks to my typical suspects (aka, my amazing creative partners):
- Video: Bernadette Marciniak of Solhaus Media filmed Abby’s brand video content alongside me. Bernadette is the video queen—capturing movement, personality, and storytelling effortlessly.
- Hair & Makeup: Abby brought in not one but two amazing artists: Michelle Montes and Monina from Moderne Beauty.
- Location support: We photographed in three locations: the private home, my former studio The Sunlight Space, and a local shopping area. Abby already had relationships with the store managers, which made securing permission for on-site shooting seamless.
Pro tip: When planning a brand shoot in public or retail locations, always ask permission. Abby’s relationships made all the difference here.
Including Real-Life Client Scenarios
To show the full journey of what it’s like to work with Abby Young Styling, we brought in a few of our friends to model as clients. This allowed us to capture her closet edits, styling sessions, fittings, and shopping trips: all realistic parts of Abby’s multi-week client experience.
Whether we were photographing racks of curated clothing, close-up accessory pairings, or full-length style consults, we were always telling a story: the ease, luxury, and confidence that Abby brings to her clients.
A Personal Full-Circle Moment
This shoot was special for so many reasons, but especially because Abby has styled my clients for years, and she styled my entire closet! From photoshoot outfits to personal closet edits, I’ve felt firsthand how transformational her work is. Getting to return the favor and FINALLY do her brand photos? A dream.
If you’re a wardrobe stylist looking to refresh your brand imagery, this shoot is packed with inspiration: from team shots to solo portraits to wardrobe stylist branding photoshoot setups that feel luxe but approachable.
