catarina, professional traveler – travel blogger + online educator ✈︎
When I met with professional travel blogger and online educator Catarina, she said that after graduating from a “fancy college with a fancy degree” she got a job at Google, climbed the corporate ladder, and got married to her college sweetheart. But even after “checking off all the boxes for a perfect life” she wasn’t fulfilled.
She said, “Social media gave me a chance to do what I love most (travel and photography) for a living and gave me the purpose I was missing.” If you ask me, it was her personal and professional drive that allowed her to be her own boss. I mean, she even told me that she didn’t have any connections or courses that helped her start Professional Traveler, a brand she uses to travel, blog, and educate others on how to create their own dream life.
If your business includes multiple components, your brand photography needs to incorporate each of those ideas. For Catarina, photos that visually communicated ideas of luxury travel and online education were equally important.
Professional Traveler allows Catarina to help creators grow engaged audiences and turn their passions into profitable, full-time influencing careers. To do this, she provides online courses, social media posts, and newsletters to teach and share resources with the online community she’s built.
why her reach matters 💖
In the influencing industry, the numbers get a bad rep. In Catarina’s case, the numbers represent lives touched.
“I want to touch MANY more lives,” she said in an onboarding interview. “I’d love to continue to work with brands and hotels I absolutely love, travel the world, and inspire others to not only travel more but to turn their passions into their very own personal brands on social media so they can be full-time creators in whatever field they love.
Hopefully, my students feel INSPIRED to act and design their own dream life using the power of social media. Empowering women to take control of their journey and define their own success, and not just follow the path they were told they had to. Ideally, they feel that there’s a place for them in my student community and that they’re not alone in this journey. I want them to feel supported and guided with credible information and actionable strategies — not myths.”
what she needed as a travel blogger🚙

Keep in mind Catarina has incredible photos splattered all over her social media profiles. She’s a travel blogger. She’s got to have photos in incredible places! We didn’t need to capture those photos. We needed to tell the online education story.
where you’ll find her brand photos 📷
For this photoshoot, we focused on the stories she needed to tell for your online courses. Of course, once you’ve got the photos, you’re free to use them wherever you need them.
With Professional Traveler, photos were destined for spots on her website, courses, online ads, marketing emails, print collateral, and social media posts, too.
Concluding, maybe travel bloggers need more photos than you realize! Keep scrolling to see a few of the photos we captured for Professional Traveler.
here’s what Catarina said after her photoshoot:
“Emily is the best brand photographer in the bay area! She’s extremely talented and you’ll not regret hiring her. Can’t wait to work with her again!” – Catarina Mello
